Brian Bassett

Brian Bassett has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies. Brian currently serves as the Director at Simple Thread, where they identify opportunities and leads product development efforts with clients in the highly regulated energy utility industry. Under their leadership, the company has grown the team significantly to support their expanding constellation of partners.

Prior to their current role, Brian was a Venture Partner at Founder Institute, a position they started in November 2020. Before that, they worked as a Director at Corgibytes, LLC from September 2016 to March 2018.

Brian has also held various roles at IBM, starting in 2004. As a Software Architect - Customer Success, they researched, recommended, built, and managed a risk portfolio program for software adoption within IBM's largest enterprise accounts worldwide. Brian also evangelized IBM Analytics tools and technologies within key target accounts. Additionally, Brian served as a Services Seller, strategizing and selling implementation and training services to IBM customers, with an annual attainment of $1.3M in quotas. Brian began their tenure at IBM as an Inside Sales representative, achieving 105% attainment of quarterly lead goals annually.

Another notable position in Brian's work history is their role as the Managing Editor for SNY.tv's TheJetsBlog.com at SportsNet New York. Brian successfully facilitated the acquisition of the media property by Sterling Enterprises (SNY) and continued to manage the site and editorial team.

Earlier in their career, Brian worked as a National Account Client Manager at Integrated Business Systems from January 2000 to May 2002, and as a Senior Consultant at TCSC from July 1998 to December 2000.

Brian Bassett attended James Madison University from 1994 to 1998, where they studied Media Arts & Design. Brian obtained a certification in Cloud Strategy from IBM in February 2016.
