Jamie Thompson has extensive work experience in the field of software development and engineering. They began their career as a Web Developer in the Enterprise Projects Team - Web Factory, where they developed bespoke websites and web systems using PHP, CodeIgniter, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
Afterward, Jamie joined The Hut Group as a Graduate Developer, contributing to the success of Europe's leading e-tailor by working on their sales, inventory, and distribution platform.
Next, they joined Orchard Information Systems Limited as a JavaScript Developer, specializing in producing mobile-first web applications tailored to enterprise customers in the social housing sector.
At Sage, Jamie served as a Senior Software Engineer, leading the development of an open-source React component library used across most of the company's products. They also moved on as a Principal Software Engineer, defining and implementing the microfrontends strategy and introducing teams to microfrontends and the reference architecture. Lastly, as a Technical Architect, they defined and implemented the microfrontend strategy on the Sage Experience Platform.
Currently, Jamie holds the role of Principal Frontend Engineer at Simpplr, where they are leading a team to transform the Salesforce monolith to Service Oriented Microfrontends using JavaScript, React, Microfrontends, and Module Federation.
Jamie Thompson attended Edge Hill University from 2011 to 2014 where they obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Web Systems Development, with a focus on computing. Additionally, Jamie obtained a certification in GDPR Compliance: Essential Training from LinkedIn in 2019.
