Andrew Matthews

Andrew is the head of the firm's corporate and commercial department and a member of the firm's board of management. He advises on all aspects of corporate law and governance in New Zealand.

Andrew regularly acts for international and domestic clients in relation to takeovers, schemes of arrangement, M&A, and overseas investment. He also provides strategic advice on governance and compliance matters more generally.

Andrew is ranked in Chambers Asia Pacific 2021, with clients highlighting his "flexible and solutions-focused" approach and that "he is timely, listens carefully to our goals and needs".

Andrew brings overseas experience to his advice, having worked at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London where he acted on a number of corporate transactions involving infrastructure assets.
