Josh Cairns

Josh is a partner in their banking and finance group, with particular expertise in corporate finance, infrastructure projects and corporate restructuring and insolvency.

He advises financial institutions, sponsors, and corporates on a range of finance products, with particular expertise in corporate and institutional finance, local authority finance, property finance and finance regulation. Josh also advises project sponsors, and local and central government agencies on the commercial and financing aspects of large infrastructure projects, with a particular focus on innovative funding and financing solutions.

In his restructuring and insolvency practice, Josh advises banks, financial creditors, bondholders, and directors on all aspects of restructurings, work-outs, formal insolvencies, and the sale of distressed assets and debt. He has advised on many of New Zealand’s most complex and high-profile insolvency and restructuring assignments, and is a recognised expert in New Zealand’s voluntary administration regime and personal property securities (PPS) law.
