Pietro Benedusi

Postdoctoral Researcher at Simula Research Laboratory

Pietro Benedusi is a skilled researcher with a strong background in scientific computing and machine learning, currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Simula Research Laboratory since April 2022. Concurrently, Benedusi conducts research on numerical simulation of polarized radiative transfer applied to solar physics at USI Università della Svizzera italiana, where involvement started in June 2020. Previous experience includes a PhD program at USI Università della Svizzera italiana focusing on space-time algorithms for cardiac simulations from September 2015 to April 2020, as well as a visiting research fellowship at Berkeley Lab Computing Sciences in late 2019. Benedusi also completed a master's thesis at Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich and holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Computational Mathematics and a master's degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics from USI, along with a bachelor's degree in Physics from Università di Pavia.
