Patricia Phelan

Patricia Phelan is an experienced legal professional specializing in special education law. Currently serving as a Tuition Associate & Attorney in the Business Office at SINAI Schools since February 2020, Patricia previously operated a law practice focused on assisting parents in advocating for appropriate special education services from June 2007 to February 2020. Patricia also held the position of Impartial Hearing Officer for the New York State Department of Education from August 2010 to January 2020, where responsibilities included presiding over due process hearings. Earlier in the career, Patricia served as an Associate at Reisman Peirez Reisman & Calica LLP, handling matrimonial and criminal defense cases, and as a Senior Assistant District Attorney at The Kings County District Attorney's Office, managing various felony and misdemeanor cases. Patricia holds a Juris Doctor from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Union College.
