Gopala Subramaniam

Gopala Subramaniam has extensive experience in aviation, currently serving as the VP/Head of Operations at Singapore Airlines since January 1993, where responsibilities include managing the operations control center. Gopala has over 15 years of experience as an Airline Pilot, primarily as a Captain on various aircraft including B747, B777, A320, A330, A340, and A350, and holds a position as an Instructor Pilot. Previously, Gopala was the Deputy Chief Pilot for the A330/A350 fleet, overseeing operational management for over 50 aircraft and 900 pilots. Gopala also has a strong focus on aviation security, having led Flight Safety and Security for Singapore Airlines and serving as an instructor for the Aviation Security Professional Management Course at the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). Gopala's education includes a Master of Science in Learning and Organizational Change and an MBA with a focus on IATA Aviation, both from Northwestern University, as well as certifications in Aviation Security Management and Executive Coaching. Gopala was part of the startup team for Vistara, contributing to the establishment of airline operations from January 2014 to March 2017.
