Shabbir Hossain's work experience includes being the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Singer Bangladesh Ltd starting in 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Daraz from 2021 to 2023, where they were responsible for driving marketplace ecosystem growth and profitability, introducing new business models, and creating a growth-oriented culture. Before that, they held various roles at Grameenphone Ltd from 2010 to 2022, including Director of Enterprise Product, Operations and Partnerships, Head of ECommerce & Logistics, Head of Digital Channels, and Head of Mobile Broadband. Shabbir also worked as the GM Product Marketing at Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Limited from 2006 to 2010 and as a Manager Planning at BOC South Pacific from 2002 to 2005.
Shabbir Hossain has a diverse educational background. Shabbir completed the Strategy Execution Program at INSEAD in 2016, focusing on driving transformation and strategy execution. Prior to that, from 2015 to 2016, they attended the London Business School for the Accelerated Leadership Program, which provided professional training for Telenor. In 2013 and 2014, Shabbir Hossain participated in the Strategic Marketing Program at the London Business School, also for professional training with Telenor. In terms of formal degrees, they earned an MBA in Finance from the Institute of Business Administration at the University of Dhaka, and a BBA in Finance from the same institution. Shabbir Hossain completed their higher secondary education at Notre Dame College, specializing in science. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including the Scrum Master Certified (SMC) from Scrum Alliance in November 2019, and the Certified Scrum Product Owner also from Scrum Alliance in February 2019. Shabbir has also acquired certifications in UiPath: Robotic Process Automation (RPA) from LinkedIn in 2021, Security Awareness: Social Engineering from LinkedIn in 2020, Human-Centered Design from IDEO.org in 2019, and Certified Usability Analyst from Human Factors International in 2019.
