Head Of Portfolio Management And Business Operations at Singular Genomics

Greg Newman has a range of work experience in various roles and companies. From 1991 to 1992, they worked as an Optical Engineer at Dylor. Starting in 1996, they joined SpectRx as a Program Manager and System Engineering Manager, where they worked on the development of the BiliCheck, a handheld non-invasive bilirubin measurement instrument. In 2000, Newman began working at KLA-Tencor as a Program Manager for the Brightfield Optical Inspection Product Line, where they managed engineering teams and oversaw the development of next-generation optical patterned wafer inspection microscopes. In 2008, they became the Director of Engineering at KLA-Tencor's Wafer Inspection Division, leading a cross-functional team on a project until October 2016. From 2016 to 2023, Newman worked at Illumina, initially as a Sr. Staff Program Manager and later as an Associate Director in Product Development, Program, and Portfolio Management, overseeing portfolio strategies, resource management, and project phase gate reviews. Most recently, they joined Singular Genomics in March 2023 as the Head of Portfolio Management and Business Operations.

Greg Newman has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from North Carolina State University. Greg also holds two Master of Science degrees, one in Applied Physics – Optics and another in Mechanical Engineering, both from Georgia Institute of Technology.
