Thierry Bertin-Mahieux

Thierry Bertin-Mahieux has a long and varied work experience. Starting in 2007, they were a Research Intern at Sun Microsystems. In 2009, they were a Research Intern at Hydro Québec. In 2011, they were an Intern at The Echo Nest. In 2012, they were an Intern at Google. In 2013, they were a Data Scientist at Birchbox, where they were part of a small team responsible for recommendation engine, in-house logging system, updating the search engine, automatic allocation of products to subscribers, helping with the deployment and use of "big data" tools, and helping other parts of the business with different analysis requests. In 2014, they were the Director of Data Science at Oyster, an ebook subscription service, where they started and led the Data Science team. The team was responsible for personalization and recommendations within the service, creating and maintaining backend jobs/ETLs, and maintaining a Redshift instance. In 2015, they were a Software Engineer at Google. Finally, in 2019, they became the CTO & Co-Founder of Singuli.

Thierry Bertin-Mahieux received a Global Executive MBA from INSEAD between 2018 and 2019. Thierry obtained a PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Columbia Engineering between 2008 and 2013. Thierry also earned a M.Sc. in Computer Science from Université de Montréal between 2006 and 2009, and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Université de Montréal between 2002 and 2006.
