Xue “Mary” Yu

Xue "Mary" Yu has a diverse and extensive work experience. Xue “Mary” is currently working at Sino Biological, Inc. as a Technical Support Manager, and has held various roles within the company including Support Manager and Product Manager. Prior to that, they worked at AnoVac Inc (Ansun Biopharma) as a Project Manager/Research Scientist, where they were responsible for developing project plans and organizing project meetings for the company's oncolytic virus project. Xue “Mary” also conducted research on building the oncolytic virus and testing its efficacy for cancer immune therapy.

Before joining AnoVac Inc, Xue worked at Cusabio Technology LLC as an Associate Product Marketing Manager, and at Baylor College of Medicine as a Postdoctoral Associate, where they focused on phage therapy for treating catheter-associated UTI infections. Xue “Mary” made significant contributions to the discovery of a phage that can treat biofilm infections and worked closely with a team of specialists.

Xue's earlier experience includes working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Texas A&M University, where they conducted research on membrane protein composition, single cell sequencing, and the effect of antibodies on parasite invasion. Xue “Mary” also worked as a Research Associate and Graduate Research Assistant at Texas A&M, where they successfully completed several projects related to genetics, invasion mechanisms of parasites, and the culture of blood pathogens.

Additionally, they have gained international experience as an Exchange Student at Yale University, where they studied the culture technique of the parasite Babesia and established collaborations. Xue also worked as a Research Assistant at Ocean University of China, where they contributed to cloning a tyrosinase gene and successfully completed a research project ahead of schedule.

Xue "Mary" Yu completed their education from 2013 to 2018 at Texas A&M University, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Biomedical Sciences, General. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained several certifications in various areas. In August 2018, they completed a course on Understanding Financial Markets from Coursera. Following that, in March 2019, they obtained certifications in Genomic and Precision Medicine as well as Introduction to Breast Cancer from Coursera. In May 2019, they acquired an Advanced Certificate in Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing from the National Center for Therapeutics Manufacturing. Continuing their pursuit of knowledge and skill development, in January 2020, they obtained the Insurance Agent certification in Accident, Health, and Life from the Texas Department of Insurance. Lastly, in April 2020, they completed the Introduction to Marketing course from Coursera.
