Ariel Root is an experienced professional specializing in health promotion and education, currently serving as the Anishininiiw Nanadowi'kikendamowin Program Manager and Youth Facilitator at Sioux Lookout First Nations Health Authority since January 2018. In this role, Ariel engages First Nations youth on public health topics, developing and delivering workshops while supporting community-based youth workers in remote communities of northwestern Ontario. In addition, Ariel has been a Teaching Assistant at Carleton University since May 2014, contributing to courses on biomedical sciences and social determinants of health, and has served as a Research Assistant at the CHAIM Centre, focusing on health adaptations and innovations in Canada.
