Andrew Mussey has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Andrew is currently working as a Software Engineer at Sirona Medical since 2022.
Prior to that, Andrew held the role of Staff Software Engineer at Doma from 2021 to 2022. In this role, they managed the migration of the Comms Team's legacy API to Kubernetes on Azure, deployed and debugged a legacy replacement API using Azure Durable Functions, and designed a distributed tracing solution for enhanced email tracking.
From 2016 to 2021, Andrew worked at Samba TV, initially as a Senior Software Engineer in Capture Backend. Andrew was responsible for scaling and operating Samba's multimedia capture infrastructure, leading the migration from a legacy RPC application to a Kafka streaming solution. Later, they took on the role of Senior Software Engineer in Content ID and built Samba's TV testing lab using Python Django, Celery, and PostgreSQL.
Prior to that, Andrew worked at Fitnet as a Software Developer in 2015, focusing on infrastructure maintenance and developer enablement. Andrew was involved in projects like porting a legacy PHP API to a LAMP stack on Docker and Amazon's EC2 Container Service.
Andrew also worked as a Software Developer II at Rackspace from 2013 to 2015, where they focused on infrastructure construction and developer enablement for the Cloud Control Panel team.
Earlier in their career, Andrew worked as a Lead Software Engineer at Friendeo in 2011-2012, where they developed a video search engine using real-time social media data. Andrew also had a web design internship at NetApp in 2010 and worked as a Junior Programmer at Southeastern Computer Consultants, Inc in 2009.
Before venturing into the software industry, Andrew gained experience as a Webmaster and Comic Writer at it! Magazine at the Free Lance-Star from 2006 to 2010. Andrew designed website layouts and wrote a weekly comic strip during their internship.
Andrew Mussey attended Stafford Senior High School from 2004 to 2008, where they obtained a High School Advanced Studies Diploma. Andrew then went on to pursue higher education at Virginia Tech from 2008 to 2013, earning a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
