Carl Arft has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Carl is currently working at SiTime as the Sr. Director of Test Systems Engineering, a position they have held since November 2021. Prior to this, Carl served as the Managing Director of SiTime's Midwest Center of Excellence, where they led the establishment of SiTime's R&D center in Michigan and focused on MEMS, Packaging, Systems R&D, and Automotive Products Business Development. From February 2016 to June 2018, they were the Sr. Director of Systems Engineering at SiTime. Before that, Carl was the Director of Systems Engineering, responsible for leading SiTime's largest engineering group and driving system-level design, verification, packaging, characterization, algorithm development, automation software, and prototyping. Carl also held the position of Director of Test Development Engineering, where they established and managed SiTime's Test Development Engineering group, working closely with teams and OSATs in Malaysia, Thailand, and Taiwan. Carl's early career includes roles as a Senior MEMS Design Engineer at SiTime, Senior Optical Engineer at C Speed Corporation, and Engineering Intern at Bay Networks. Carl also gained experience at UC Davis, serving as a Faculty Fellow and Research Assistant, conducting independent research and instructing courses.
Carl Arft obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University from 1993 to 1997. Carl then pursued a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Electromagnetics at the University of California, Davis, completing their studies from 1997 to 2004.
