Martyn Curtis

Martyn Curtis has extensive experience in aquatic ecosystem management and species protection, particularly within the Government of Canada since January 2003, where roles have included Director of Species at Risk & Aquatic Invasive Species and Director of Fish and Fish Habitat Protection across various regions. Curtis's responsibilities have encompassed managing federal programs under acts such as the Species at Risk Act and the Fisheries Act, coordinating regional implementation and oversight of fisheries protections, and leading environmental assessments. Additionally, Martyn Curtis is a recognized figure in the hunting community, representing brands such as Sitka, Hobo Duck Calls, and Coon Creek Custom Game Calls, while also contributing to the Canadian Pro Program with MeatEater, Inc. Educational credentials include a BSc Hons in Marine Biology from Dalhousie University. Prior positions include Fisheries Biologist at the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry and Head Technician at the University of Toronto's Fisheries Life History Research Project.
