Gene H. has worked in various roles within the cybersecurity industry since 2017. Their most recent position was at SIXGEN starting in 2021, where they held the roles of Program Manager and Senior Offensive Cyber Operator. Prior to that, they were a Senior Security Engineer at Blackpoint Cyber from 2019 to 2021, and before that they were Vice President of Information Security and Uptime Team Lead/Information Assurance Analyst at Bensinger Consulting from 2017 to 2019.

Gene H. received a Kenpo and Kensho-do education from American Karate from 1990 to 2002. In 2001, they completed a Personal Protection Specialist course from ESI. Gene also holds certifications from the Institute of Project Management (Certified Project Officer (CPO), obtained in August 2022), Offensive Security (Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), obtained in August 2021), Hack The Box (Rastalabs, obtained in April 2021), eLearnSecurity (eLearnSecurity Certified Professional Penetration Tester (eCPPTv2), obtained in December 2020), and eLearnSecurity (Junior Penetration Tester, obtained in November 2020).
