Emilia Arana has extensive experience in the field of pediatrics and public health. Starting as a pediatrician at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in 1998, they later moved on to roles at Sixteenth Street Community Health Centers, where they served as a Pediatrician, Department Director of Pediatrics, and Medical Director of School Based Health. Additionally, they took on the role of Oral Health Champion at the Wisconsin Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics and served as an Advisory Council Member at Reach Out and Read.
Emilia Arana obtained their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in 1996.
