André van Es possesses extensive experience in project management and leadership within the fields of astronomy, engineering, and political involvement. Currently serving as Sr. Project Manager for SKA Low Telescope at the SKA Observatory since April 2015, André also holds the position of Engineering Project Manager. Previously, André chaired the CAMRAS foundation, overseeing the Dwingeloo Radio Telescope, and managed international European projects at ASTRON, including initiatives related to the SKA. Additional roles include chairing the local D66 political party and teaching sustainability courses. André's educational background includes a Master's in Philosophy and a Bachelor's in Philosophy from the University of Groningen, along with a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Delft University of Technology.
