Steven Spratford began their work experience in 2013 as an Engineering Intern at North South Oil LLC. From 2015 to 2018, they worked at Soltex, Inc as an R&D Chemist, Chemical Engineer, and Quality Control professional. In 2018, Steven joined the University of Houston as an Instructional Assistant and Researcher. During their time there, they contributed to the improvement of intermediate temperature fuel cell performance and conducted experiments on solid acid ceramic electrolyte membranes. Since 2021, Steven has been working at SKYRE, Inc as a Chemical Engineer and Project Engineer, where they are involved in the coordination and support of NASA's Lunar Propellant Production Plant contract.
Steven Spratford earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Texas Tech University - Engineering, where they attended from 2010 to 2014. From 2017 to 2020, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Engineering Technology, with a focus on Mechanical Engineering, at the University of Houston.
