Sundararajan Subrahmanyam has extensive work experience in the aerospace industry. Sundararajan started their career in 1975 at the Aeronautical Development Establishment as a Junior Scientific Officer. In 1978, they joined the Indian Space Research Organisation as a Scientist and held this position until 2007. From 2008 to 2012, Sundararajan served as a Visiting Scientist at ISRO. In 2018, they became self-employed and worked as a Technical Consultant. Sundararajan continued their consultancy roles at AgniKul Cosmos in 2019, Skyroot Aerospace in 2020, and currently at Azista Composites since 2021.
Sundararajan Subrahmanyam pursued their education in the field of Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. From 1969 to 1972, they attended Anna University, where they obtained a DMIT degree. Sundararajan then continued their studies at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, from 1972 to 1974, where they earned a Master of Technology (M.Tech.) degree in the same field.
