Sam Fanning has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. They started in 2011 as a Computer Consultant II at the University of Michigan, Institute for Social Research, where they supported IT operations for a large research study. They then worked as a Depot Technician at ADP in 2012, diagnosing hardware issues and managing inventory. In 2013, they became an Associate Quality Assurance Coordinator at the University of Michigan, where they created acceptance criteria and executed regression test suites.
In 2014, Sam joined Johnson & Johnson as a Software Tester II, analyzing requirements, creating test plans, and automating tasks using Selenium IDE. From 2015 to 2019, they worked at LLamasoft, Inc. as a QA Engineer and Automation Engineer, designing and maintaining automation frameworks, running smoke tests, and troubleshooting code.
At Vroom, starting in 2019, Sam worked as a Senior QA Analyst, automated backend tests using Python, wrote load tests, and collaborated with the data science team on Postman tests. Most recently, in 2022, they joined SkySpecs as a Senior QA Engineer.
Throughout their career, Sam has demonstrated strong technical skills, including automation, test design, and troubleshooting, and has worked collaboratively with teams to ensure quality standards and streamline processes.
Sam Fanning obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Network and Information Technology Administration from Eastern Michigan University. Additionally, Sam has obtained several certifications including ASTQB Foundation Level from ASTQB - Official Page - American Software Testing Qualifications Board in May 2016, Network+ from Comptia in April 2010, and A+ from Comptia in November 2009. Sam is also an ordained minister from the Universal Life Church.
