Nicole Shanahan is an attorney in California and a research fellow at CodeX, the Stanford Center of Legal Informatics, a joint center between Stanford Law School and Computer Science. She is also the founder and CEO of ClearAccessIP, an automated patent management and valuation platform, and a legal technologist who specializes in the legal applications of neural networks, structured databases, APIs, UI/UX, automation and SaaS.
Apart from the practical applications of legal technology, she is formulating an economic theory, entitled “Coasean Mapping” to predict the pace and nature of society’s adoption of legal artificial intelligence.
The entrepreneur/philanthropist/investor joined Sloomoo Institute as the Global Joy Officer and Board Member after going to Sloomoo’s New York City location with her family. “Following the pandemic, families are looking for activities that are authentically fun, creative and experiential,” she says, “Visiting Sloomoo brought so much joy to my family and I wanted to be a part of bringing that joy to more cities around the world.”
She is also the President and Director of bia-Echo, a private foundation that invests in changemakers across criminal justice reform, women’s reproductive science, and climate solutions.
