Mitchell Gipson

Mitchell Gipson, MS, EIT, currently serves as the Permian Basin Senior Production Engineer at SM Energy Company, managing Midland Basin assets and optimizing various production methods. Since March 2019, Mitchell has held leadership roles within the American Association of Drilling Engineers, including serving as president and facilitating industry support for petroleum engineering students at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, where Mitchell is also a member of the Board of Advisors. Previous experience includes roles as a Petroleum Engineer at Reliance Energy, Inc., and Stimulation Field Engineer at Halliburton, where valuable contributions to drilling and completion projects were made. Mitchell holds a Master of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State University.
