Cassie Mills

Cassie Mills has over 7 years of work experience in communications and research roles. Cassie recently served as the VP of Communications at Small Business Majority, where they managed a team and oversaw all internal and external communications functions. Cassie also developed and implemented communications plans and strategies, acted as the organization's media relations contact, and helped grow their social media following. Prior to this, they held positions as a Communications Director and Communications Manager at the same organization. Cassie's earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Communications & Research Associate and Communications Associate at Small Business Majority. Cassie also worked as a Communications Associate at BCS, Incorporated, where they drafted and edited various communication materials for the United States Department of Energy. Additionally, Cassie served as a Graduate Editing Assistant for the New Oxford Shakespeare Project and as a Program Assistant for The Polis Center - Spirit & Place Festival. Cassie started their career as an Assistant Writer/Editor at The Polis Center, where they improved website content and proofread and formatted documents. Cassie has a strong background in writing, research, media relations, and digital marketing.

Cassie Mills obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Literature from Louisiana State University, where they studied from 2005 to 2009. Cassie then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in English with a focus on Professional Editing at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis from 2010 to 2012. Additionally, they received a Graduate Certificate in Professional Editing from the same institution in May 2012.
