Paola Arce has a diversified work experience with roles ranging from Lead Data Scientist to Computing and Informatics Analyst. Paola started their career in 2007 as a Software Engineer at Airsage, where they developed and implemented automatic software testing tools and enhanced geographic models for routing and traffic accuracy. From 2008 to 2008, they worked as a Researcher at the University of Bristol, focusing on modeling tumor growth using free mesh methods. Paola then joined UTFSM in 2009 as an Engineer CIT-HPC, where they researched and implemented a High-Frequency Trading system for predicting trends in the FOREX market and also worked on georeferencing mining information using GIS tools. In 2010, they became a Scientific Computing I professor at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, and from 2012 to 2012, they served as a Scientific Computing II professor at the same university. Paola then transitioned to the Scottish Association For Marine Science in 2016, where they worked as a Computing and Informatics Analyst until 2021. Finally, in 2021, they joined Smart Data Foundry as a Senior Data Scientist, and later became the Lead Data Scientist.
Paola Arce completed their education at the Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria. From 2001 to 2007, they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science and an Engineer's degree in Computer Engineering from the same institution. Additionally, they received a certification in "Future is FinTech" from Canvas Credentials (Badgr) in May 2023.
