Joan Puteri Zheng

Joan Puteri Zheng is an experienced researcher and educator, currently serving as a Researcher and Associate Researcher at SIFT since December 2019. Additionally, since March 2023, Joan has been providing after-school STEM and reading tutoring to youth in the state probation and foster care system through Professional Tutors of America. Previous experience includes working as a Research Assistant at Gini Lab, a Web Development Instructor and Organizer for Minnecoders, and a Teaching Assistant at the University of Minnesota's Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Joan also has a background in project management as an intern at Ameriprise Financial Services, IT support as an analyst at Deluxe Corporation, and as a student IT intern with Genesys Works Twin Cities. Joan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with a minor in Linguistics from the University of Minnesota, completed between 2015 and 2019.
