Mark Valovage

Researcher at SIFT

Mark Valovage is currently a researcher at Smart Information Flow Technologies (SIFT). Mark previously worked as a research intern at SIFT from April 2015 to December 2018, where they extended inheritance in SHOP2 to incorporate inheritance with predefined subproblems and subdomains. Mark also created a graphical timeline in Javascript to view timeline events for Distributed Battle Management (DBM) development. Mark has also consulted on military design aspects of SAGA (Sequential Art via Game Assistance), designed to assist veterans with PTSD, and NAPP (Nighttime Alleviation Play & Practice), a project to reduce sleep problems for deployed service members by teaching proper sleep hygiene through 3-D role playing.

Prior to their work at SIFT, Mark served as a Division Battle Major in the Minnesota National Guard from November 2004 to November 2008. Mark was also a Node Center Team Leader in the US Army from November 2004 to November 2008.

Mark Valovage has a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota and a Master's Degree in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota. Mark also has a Master's Degree in Bioinformatics from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.

Their manager is Andrea Bell, President. They work with Phillip Walker - Researcher, Howard Bell - Chief Research Pilot, and Harry Funk - Vice-President, R&D.
