João Silva

João Silva's work experience includes several roles in different companies. In 2008, they worked as a Trainee at IPO de Coimbra. From 2009 to 2010, they served as a Scientific Researcher at CNC UC. João then joined CNC UC @ UC-Biotech, where they worked as a Researcher PhD Candidate from 2013 to 2018. In 2020, they became a Service Excellence Fellow at EIT Health, contributing to the development of new services in the health innovation sector. From 2016 to 2021, João co-founded Lifetag Diagnostics, a biotechnology company focused on non-invasive technologies for early-stage chronic and autoimmune diseases. During this time, they took on various responsibilities, including R&D, regulatory affairs, financing, and business development. From 2021 to 2023, they worked at Smart4Diagnostics GmbH, first as an Operations Manager and then as a Senior Operations & Partnerships Manager. Currently, João is serving as a Senior Manager of Business Development at AMW GmbH.

João Silva's education history begins in 2006 when they started their degree in Biochemistry at Universidade de Coimbra. João completed this degree in 2010. In 2009, João also pursued a degree in Academic English at the same university. After completing their Bachelor's degree, they went on to pursue a Master's degree in Biochemistry from 2010 to 2012 at Universidade de Coimbra.

Following their Master's degree, João enrolled in the International Innovation program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology for one year in 2017. During the same year, they also obtained a Regulatory Affairs Certification from Unave, A3D - Training Programme in Pharmaceutical Medicine.

In 2013, João began their journey towards a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Biosciences, Biochemistry & Biomedicine at Universidade de Coimbra. João successfully completed their PhD in 2018.

Throughout their educational journey, João also obtained several certifications to further enhance their skills and knowledge. In 2013, they obtained a Certificate of Pedagogical Competences (CCP) from IEFP. In 2014, they acquired the FELASA Laboratory Animal Science (Category B) certification from SPCAL. Later in 2015, they completed the CoHITECH - Turning Science into Business Program provided by COTEC Portugal.

Continuing their professional development, in 2019, João earned an Institute for Biomedical Entrepreneurship Certificate Program from Institute for Biomedical Entrepreneurship, Inc. (IBE, Inc.). João further pursued certifications in Marketing Analytics from Darden School of Business through Coursera in 2020, and the Service Excellence Programme from EIT Health in the same year.
