Valerie Hammontree has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Valerie began their career as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Product Concept Development, Inc. in 2007. Valerie then worked as a Mechanical Engineer I at the same company from 2014 to 2015, collaborating with licensed engineers on various design projects. Valerie also gained experience as a Mechanical Engineer I at Area Engineering Solutions in 2015, where they specialized in automated brazing machine design and other automation projects.

In 2012, Valerie took on a leadership role as the Team Leader for the NASA Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle Seatback Design Senior Capstone Project. Valerie worked with a team to redesign the current flight model seats and mock-up model seats for astronauts training and flying in future Orion Missions.

Valerie joined Federal Heath in 2015 and held multiple roles during their tenure. Valerie worked as a Product & Process Improvement Engineer, focusing on improving design and engineering of products as well as manufacturing processes. Valerie also served as a Design Manager, leading efforts to engage the workforce and foster an improvement culture within the manufacturing operation.

Most recently, Valerie has been working at SmartDrone Corporation since 2020. Valerie initially served as a Mechanical Engineer and is currently the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Additional details about their roles at SmartDrone Corporation were not provided.

Outside of their engineering career, Valerie served as the Music Director at Landmark Baptist Church from 2010 to 2013. Valerie also worked as a Tutor and Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Texas at Tyler in 2011 and 2012, respectively.

Valerie Hammontree earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Physics and Mathematics from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2013.
