Orrin Ramstad

Orrin leads SmartKargo’s Customs implementation team as the Vice President of Customs Compliance. He has over 35 years of cargo experience in the airline industry and an additional 10 years in the Automation, Transportation, and Logistics field.

Orrin worked for 16 years as a Manager of Operations and Customs Compliance for Northwest Airlines. Following this position, Orrin spent nine years on an IT development team and later became a member of a transition team that determined best practices for the migration of Northwest Airlines to Delta Airlines.

Orrin was affiliated with many airline’s Customs associations and served in multiple leadership roles for airline compliance groups. These positions include: Vice-Chair of the IATA Customs Advisory Group; Chairman of the Customs Air Manifest User Group; Trade Ambassador to the US Customs and Trade Support Network; and

Chair for 11 US Customs Multi-Model Manifest committees developing the ACE system.
