Murat Baday

Murat Baday is a Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at Smartlens. Prior to this, they were a Co-Founder and Advisor at WOWSO from January 2017 to December 2020. Murat has also worked as a Postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine from January 2015 to August 2018.

Murat's work revolves around studying the effects of nutrients on human health, as well as nutritional genomics. Murat has also developed various mechanical and imaging tools to study the mechanical cues associated with cancer. Furthermore, they have written 10 grant applications and led a team for an S10 shared instrument grant application. Murat has also mentored 8 graduate students and visiting scientists.

Murat Baday earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Boğaziçi University, followed by a Master of Science in Physics from the University of Pittsburgh. Murat then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy in Biophysics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. After completing their PhD, they undertook postdoctoral research at Cornell University and Stanford University.
