Zubair Akbar has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. In 2008, they worked as an ALT at the Council of Local Authorities for International Relations for a two-year period. From 2013 to 2014, Zubair worked as a Trading Desk Analyst at Citi Global Markets Japan. Following this, from 2015 to 2020, they served as a Medic in the US Army, gaining certifications in various medical fields and receiving specialized training within Army Special Operation Forces.
In 2021, Zubair transitioned into the software engineering field, starting with roles at Software Engineering Applications and Pine Gate Renewables. At Software Engineering Applications, they worked as a Full Stack Engineer on various projects such as building a full stack application for tracking climbs and providing analytics, developing a back-end API for eCommerce Questions & Answers data, and contributing to an Elder-ly Fashion project. Zubair employed technologies such as React, React-routes, GraphQL, D3.js, Styled-components, Flex, Grid, PostgreSQL, Node, and Express.
Currently, Zubair holds a position as a Software Engineer at SmartPass, starting in April 2023.
Zubair Akbar has a diverse education history. Zubair began their academic journey at Cal State Fullerton, College of Business and Economics, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. Zubair completed their undergraduate studies in 2008.
In 2010, Zubair enrolled in CIMA and earned a Diploma in Islamic Finance. Concurrently, they joined EDHEC Business School and pursued a Master of Science degree in Finance. Zubair completed this program in 2013.
More recently, in 2021, Zubair attended Hack Reactor, where they participated in the Software Engineering Immersive program.
In addition to their formal education, Zubair has obtained a certification in "Learning Data Science: Tell Stories With Data" from LinkedIn. Zubair acquired this certification in June 2021.
