Austin Vandervelde

Austin VanderVelde has extensive work experience in talent acquisition and recruitment. Austin is currently working at SmartRent as a Talent Acquisition Partner II, where they are responsible for all aspects of talent acquisition for their teams. Prior to that, they worked as a Recruiter at SmartRent and played a key role in the company's explosive growth.

Before joining SmartRent, Austin worked as a Sales Recruiter at Odin Energy, where they focused on recruiting sales professionals. Austin also gained experience as an Executive Recruiter and Associate Recruiter at CyberCoders.

Austin's work experience also includes a role as an Operational Specialist at Bird, where they improved the rider experience and resolved customer issues. Austin also ran A/B tests to gather data and implemented Standard Operating Procedures for effective customer communication.

Additionally, Austin worked as an Account Manager at Homewood Disposal Service, where they performed B2B sales and managed a large portfolio of customers. Prior to that, they held various roles at Trinity Christian College, including Vice President of Student Association and Operations Specialist at the Mail & Print Center.

Austin began their career as a Sales and Customer Service Intern at Homewood Disposal Service and also worked as an Assistant Tennis Coach at Southwest Chicago Christian Schools.

Austin VanderVelde obtained their Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Trinity Christian College, which they attended from 2013 to 2017. In addition to their degree, they also earned the SHRM Talent Acquisition Specialty certification from SHRM in March 2022.
