Gianluca Laera

Gianluca Laera has a diverse range of work experience. Gianluca is currently the Co-Founder of Smartway.work, a position they have held since March 2021. Before that, they worked as a Management Consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from January 2018 to March 2021. In 2016, they co-founded Aria Aerotech Pvt. Ltd., where they focused on reducing fuel consumption in heavy commercial vehicles. This product, called Aerotruck, was successfully launched in India. Prior to that, they worked as a Structural Engineer at Levitas Composite Structures from January 2015 to October 2016. Gianluca also gained experience as a Master Thesis researcher at Fundación Andaluza para el Desarrollo Aeroespacial (FADA-CATEC) from February 2014 to December 2014, where they conducted research on thermal fatigue in CFRP. Additionally, Gianluca completed an internship at TEAMS S.L. from September 2013 to December 2013.

Gianluca Laera completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Università di Pisa, following which they pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Aerospace Engineering - Design and Production of Composite Structures from Delft University of Technology. Gianluca studied at Università di Pisa from 2008 to 2011 and at Delft University of Technology from 2012 to 2014.
