Daniel Covill

Daniel Covill has held a variety of roles in the technology industry since 2005. From 2005 to 2006, they served as the Director of Intra-University Computer Labs at Colorado State University, managing 15+ employees in two computer labs on the campus. From 2006 to 2014, they worked as a Senior Software Developer at Wirestone, managing overseas contractors to provide customer solutions within limited time frames and budgets. In 2014, they became a Senior Consultant at ECS Team, advising and assisting in the modernization of .NET stack applications from the service layer through the front end during a large scale telecom merger. From 2015 to 2017, they were the Director of Technology at PorchLight Real Estate Group, overseeing software development of two public sites and a custom CRM serving hundreds of agents and tens of thousands of clients. Finally, from 2017 to 2019, they were the Director of Software Engineering at Accruent, product development leader, closely partnered with product management and sales to define and implement practical and effective strategy, policies, and processes in support of organizational goals. Currently, they are the Director of Engineering at Smartwyre, engineering and IT lead at a very active startup, working closely with CEO and other executive leadership to prioritize and define technical direction for the company.

Daniel Covill obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science from Colorado State University between 2001 and 2006. Daniel also holds a ScrumMaster certification from the Scrum Alliance.
