Buford Taylor

Buford Taylor has extensive experience in the technology industry, particularly in founding and leading companies. Buford is currently a Co-Founder at SMBee, a role they took on in June 2023. Prior to this, they founded Closing Credits in August 2021. Buford also founded Casting Call Club in 2015.

Buford's previous roles include being the Founding Engineer and Head of Engineering at Reforge from May 2017 to July 2021. Buford was responsible for building Reforge from the ground up and managed the engineering team once product-market fit was established.

Before that, Buford was the CTO at 17hats from August 2015 to November 2016. Buford successfully hired and managed a team of up to 12 people and played a crucial role in increasing both user base and subscription revenue.

Buford also co-founded Shortcut in January 2014 and served as the CTO. Buford participated in Techstars 2014 and raised approximately $1M for the company. Buford built and launched the product.

In addition, Buford worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Eventbrite from June 2009 to January 2013. Buford played a key role in the early stages of the company, working on various web features and launching Eventbrite's first iOS app.

Buford's professional journey began at InTicketing, where they worked as a Web Developer from November 2008 to June 2009. Buford was responsible for migrating the company's legacy system to a modern structure using PHP5 features.

Buford Taylor completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Central Oklahoma from 2004 to 2008. In 2014, they attended Techstars and obtained a Small Business Education degree in Startup Applied Growth Course. In 2017, Buford attended Reforge and completed the Growth Series program in the field of study.
