Kari Journigan

Kari Journigan is the Team Leader, Production Specialist at Smile Marketing. Kari has over fifteen years of experience in public relations and marketing. Kari has a proven track record of developing successful PR campaigns and content strategy initiatives that have increased brand awareness and media exposure for their clients.

Kari began their career as a Secretary at the Virginia Beach Fire Training Center in 2005. Kari quickly rose through the ranks and became a Senior PR Account Executive at BCF, one of the leading PR firms in the country. In 2014, Kari left BCF to join SnapKnot, a startup in the wedding industry, as their Community, PR & Content Manager. Kari was responsible for growing their social media presence and creating content that helped brides and grooms plan their weddings.

In 2015, Kari joined The Founders Inn and Spa, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, as their Public Relations Representative. In this role, they developed yearly PR plans to promote the hotel locally, regionally, and nationally. Kari also wrote and distributed press releases on property events and new hires. Kari worked closely with the Virginia Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau to provide information on the hotel for media requests they received directly. In 2016, they assisted in the planning and promotion of the hotel's 10K Bakeaway event, helping to secure judges for the event. Kari also monitored media outlets for new opportunities, managed media lists, and worked with media professionals and bloggers who visited the property

Kari Journigan has a Bachelor's degree in Communication, General from Old Dominion University and a Field in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communication from Radford University.
