Jared Blakney

Jared Blakney has a diverse work experience that spans several industries. Jared currently holds the position of Principal at Potomac Asset Management Company, where they have been working since January 2023. Prior to this, Jared worked as an Associate, Portfolio Company Operations at the same company from June 2018 to February 2023. In 2018, they also worked as part of the Strategy and Operations team at Smith Electric Vehicles.

Before joining Potomac Asset Management and Smith Electric Vehicles, Jared co-founded Blakney Brand in 2017, where they served as a Co-Founder until April 2020. Jared also worked as a Special Assistant for J.D. Merrill for Maryland State Senate for a brief period in 2018.

Earlier in their career, Jared held the position of Marketing Manager at Mission Data from September 2015 to September 2017. Jared gained experience as a Product Marketing Intern at R65 from October 2014 to January 2015. Jared also worked as a Tutor at the Center of Teaching and Learning at Davidson College from September 2011 to May 2014.

Additionally, Jared has experience as a Summer Analyst at Valstone Partners in 2013 and as a Digital Media Intern for Charlotte in 2012 - Democratic National Convention from February 2012 to September 2012.

Jared Blakney is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at NYU Stern School of Business, which they are expected to complete in 2024. Prior to this, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science with a Concentration in East Asian Studies from Davidson College, where they attended from 2010 to 2014. During their time at Davidson College, Jared also participated in a study abroad program at Fudan University in 2013, focusing on the Political Economy of China.
