Medardo Lacayo

Medardo Lacayo has a strong background in information technology, with their most recent role being Vice President of Information Technology at SMP Pharmacy Solutions since September 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Senior IT Director at the same company from November 2020 to September 2022.

Before joining SMP Pharmacy Solutions, Lacayo worked at Leon Medical Centers for over a decade. Medardo held various positions including Director of Business Applications from January 2017 to November 2020, Systems Integration Manager from November 2012 to December 2016, and Senior Business Analyst from March 2009 to October 2012.

Earlier in their career, Lacayo worked as a Senior Application Analyst at Auxis from May 2004 to November 2008, and as a Senior Software Engineer at IBM from August 2000 to January 2003.

Medardo Lacayo completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering at the University of Miami from 1996 to 2000. Medardo then pursued further education and obtained an MBA degree in Management Science from the University of Miami Herbert Business School between 2003 and 2005. In addition to their formal education, Medardo Lacayo has also obtained several certifications. Medardo became certified in Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals through Microsoft in April 2023, followed by certifications in Azure Data Fundamentals in March 2023 and Azure Fundamentals in February 2023. Furthermore, they achieved the Six Sigma Greenbelt certification from the University of Miami in June 2005.
