Dan Cowens, MBA, has a long and varied work experience, beginning with their service in the US Army from 1989 to 1991, where they were a Lieutenant and Enlisted Non-Commissioned Officer for 6 years in the 299th Engineers Co. 310th Taicom. Commissioned Officer for 2 years branched Engineers. After their service, they held the role of Vice President of Operations at Towne Park LTD. from 1992 to 2003. From 2003 to 2008, they were Board Chair at The Check Foundation. During this time, they also served as an Advisory Board Member to the Perdue School of Business at Salisbury University from 2012 to 2015. In 2015, they founded Oasis Marinas and Snag-A-Slip, and held the roles of Founder, Member Board of Directors, and Founder/CEO at Oasis Marinas, and Founder and Member Board of Directors at Snag-A-Slip. In 2017, they joined Marinalife, Inc. as a Member Board of Directors. From 2008 to present, they have also served as Board Chair and Board Member at St. Andrews Day School.
Dan Cowens obtained their Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Maryland - Robert H. Smith School of Business between 2012 and 2014. Dan then obtained their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from Salisbury University between 1993 and 1995. Prior to that, they obtained a Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Anne Arundel Community College between 1990 and 1992.
