Jimmy Googer

Jimmy Googer has a solid background in the IT industry, with a focus on network operations and project engineering. Jimmy currently works at Snap Tech IT as a Project Engineer, a position they have held since July 2022. Prior to that, they were a Network Operations Center Engineer at Snap Tech IT from December 2021 to July 2022.

Before joining Snap Tech IT, Jimmy worked at Layer 3 Communications, starting in September 2019 as a Network Operations Center Engineer. In this role, they handled calls from customer IT departments, troubleshooting tier 2 and 3 equipment, and provided element management on customer networks. Jimmy was also responsible for security monitoring, reporting, and evaluating potential threats. Jimmy was part of a team that provided 24/7/365 support and monitoring, researching and troubleshooting outages. Jimmy worked at Layer 3 Communications until December 2021.

Prior to Layer 3 Communications, Jimmy worked at Trextel. Jimmy started at Trextel in November 2017 as a Staging Team Lead, a role they held until January 2019. In this position, they led a team responsible for staging network equipment. Jimmy then transitioned to the role of Network Operations Center Engineer, where they monitored customer networks, proactively detected and repaired issues, and provided detailed troubleshooting notes. Jimmy worked at Trextel until September 2019.

Jimmy Googer attended Lanier Technical College from 2016 to 2018, focusing on Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications. During their time at the college, they did not obtain a specific degree. However, in terms of additional certifications, Jimmy Googer successfully obtained the PCNSA certification from Palo Alto Networks in December 2019, as well as the Juniper Networks Certified Associate - Junos (JNCIA-Junos) certification from Juniper Networks in December 2020.
