Richard Hargreaves has a long and varied work experience. In 1973, they began their career as London Office Manager for 3i Group plc. In 1989, they became Chairman of the British Venture Capital Association (BVCA). In 2009, they became a Director of Blue Systems Ltd trading as sales-i, a sales productivity tool delivered as SaaS. In 2010, they became a Director of Numecent Holdings Ltd, a company with a suite of patents on virtualisation and data streaming across the internet. In 2017, they became a Director of Autologyx, a company operating in the fast growing field of software automation. In 2020, they became a Director of PCL Health. In 2021, they became a Director of Shop Street (Technologies) Limited and SnapDragon Monitoring Ltd. Additionally, in 2021, they began their role as a Business angel investment specialist and author, having written a book called Business Angel Investing.
Richard Hargreaves attended the University of Cambridge from 1964 to 1967, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Sciences. Richard then attended Imperial College London from 1967 to 1971, earning an MSc and PhD in Electrical Materials Science.
