Iris de Winter is an accomplished conservation professional with extensive experience in wildlife and nature conservation. Currently serving as the Director of the Apenheul Primate Conservation Trust and as a Nature Guide for TeamTripper | Dutch Safaris since May 2019, Iris also holds the position of Assistant Professor at Utrecht University, coordinating the Wildlife Conservation course. As Research Coordinator at Apenheul Primate Park since January 2017, Iris leads efforts on the critically endangered blue-eyed black lemur population in Madagascar while coordinating research and ecotourism initiatives. With a solid background in tour leadership and education, alongside a doctoral degree in Ecology from Wageningen University, Iris has a strong foundation in engaging diverse audiences in conservation efforts and advancing knowledge in the field.
