Ronald Bakkum is an experienced biodiversity advisor at Hoogheemraadschap van Delfland since July 2006, specializing in the "small five" species and contributing to the Sustainable Circular program. Ronald has previously served as a researcher and policy advisor on water system quality and ecology, actively participating in European water quality frameworks and innovative projects to combat eutrophication. Additionally, Ronald has guided hiking trips for SNP Natuurreizen since 2002, particularly in the Pyrenees. As a guest lecturer at Hogeschool Larenstein in late 2010, Ronald taught water quality modeling. Prior positions include water quality advisor at Hoogheemraadschap van Rijnland and environmental engineer at WL | Delft Hydraulics, where Ronald conducted system analyses internationally. Ronald holds advanced degrees in environmental hygiene, water quality management, and aquatic ecology from Wageningen University & Research and HTS 's Hertogenbosch.
