Julia Werneburg

Julia Werneburg currently serves as Legal Counsel at SOCAN since May 2023. Prior to this role, Julia held the same position at Access Copyright from May 2021 to May 2023. Julia's legal career began at Gowling WLG, where Julia worked from 2011 to April 2021 in various capacities, including Summer Law Student, Student-at-Law, Associate Lawyer, and Staff Lawyer specializing in Intellectual Property. Julia also briefly practiced as an Associate Lawyer in Civil Litigation at Cavanagh LLP in 2015. Julia obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Ottawa in 2012 and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics and Interdisciplinary Studies in Aquatic Resources from St. Francis Xavier University in 2009.
