Safaa Amer

Safaa Amer has extensive experience in the field of statistics and research. They have worked as a Chief Mathematical Statistician at the Social Security Administration, serving as a senior advisor and technical expert on statistical methodologies. They also represented the Office of Research, Evaluation, and Statistics (ORES) on the Interagency Council on Statistical Policy.

Additionally, Safaa worked as an Adjunct Professor at George Washington University, teaching and sharing their expertise with students. They also served as the Science and Research Director at Abt Associates, where they played a crucial role in research and scientific projects.

Safaa has held the position of Senior Research Scientist at Meta and Senior Research Statistician at RTI International, where they were involved in project management, leadership, and business development. Their focus was on survey research and evaluation studies for both domestic and international clients.

They began their career as a Senior Statistician at NORC, contributing to statistical analysis and research before later progressing to roles with more responsibilities.

Safaa Amer holds a PhD in Statistics from Oregon State University, as well as an MSc in Statistics from the same institution. Prior to that, Safaa obtained a BSc in Statistics from Cairo University. In terms of additional certifications, Safaa has become a Six Sigma Black Belt through LinkedIn, completed a Data Analytics and Visualization program at George Washington University, and obtained certification as a Geographic Information Systems Professional (GISP) from Oregon State University.
