Marcela Giraldo

Marcela is an Analyst, Consulting at Social Ventures Australia. She brings experience from both the corporate and for-purpose worlds.

She has a background in Mathematical Engineering. Before joining SVA, she worked in enterprise risk management in the insurance industry in Colombia. Her desire to pursue a career in the social impact space led her to do a Masters in International Development at Monash University where she specialised in Corporate Sustainability. As part of her studies, she did an internship at B Lab Australia & New Zealand, where she conducted social and environmental impact analyses of B Corp companies. After finishing her masters, she worked at Monash tutoring the Corporate Sustainability unit for the Master of Business.

In the for-purpose sector, Marcela has co-authored two annual reports of an international development organisation that empowers women and communities in developing countries. In Colombia, she volunteered at an NGO that supports vulnerable children and adolescents, contributing to their capacity development and education in values, rights and duties.
