Serge Kayembe

Serge Kayembe serves as the Group Environmental Social and Governance Manager at Société Minière du Katanga (SOMIKA) since December 2023. Prior to this role, Serge held a position as Principal Consultant for Stakeholder Engagement at Golder Associates from February 2012 to October 2023, managing a wide range of responsibilities across 32 major projects in Africa, including stakeholder engagement, environmental and social assessments, and compliance. Earlier experience includes serving as Senior Community Relations at Ivanhoe Mines, where Serge focused on sustainability and community relations, and roles as a consultant with organizations such as the Australian National Institute of Business and Technology, Pannar Seeds, and Tenke Fungurume Mining, involving translations and facilitating training. Serge's career began as an educator at the Best Learning Center and as a radio announcer and producer at the National Radio Broadcasting Corporation. Serge holds a University Degree in Social Sciences from Université de Lubumbashi, attained in 2003.
