Erika Eliasson-Norris has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of governance. Erika is currently the CEO and Founder of Beyond Governance since February 2019. Erika is also a Certified Corporate Governance Professional at the Society for Corporate Governance starting in October 2022. Erika was recognized as the Governance Professional of the Year 2022 at The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland in November 2022. Previously, they worked as a Governance Assessor at the Post Office Horizon IT Inquiry from November 2021. Erika served as a Governance Adviser at be Retail Social from April 2021. Erika was involved with The Institute of Directors as a member of the Centre for Corporate Governance - Stakeholder Governance Working Group from July 2020 to April 2022. Erika has also held various roles at The Chartered Governance Institute, including Moderator and Review Group Member for the International Qualifying Programme and Technical Reviewer for the Official Corporate Law Student Study Text. Erika has experience in the corporate sector as well, having served as a Group Company Secretary at Low & Bonar and The Restaurant Group plc. Erika Eliasson-Norris has a strong educational background in law and corporate governance. Erika completed a Commercial Contracts Course for Solicitors at BPP Law School in 2016, focusing on drafting and reviewing commercial contracts. In 2008, they pursued the Chartered Governance Qualifying Programme at The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland, specializing in corporate governance. Prior to that, they obtained a Legal Practice Course from BPP Law School in 2006, with a focus on business and company law. In 2005, Erika earned a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the University of Bristol, specializing in commercial law including corporate governance. Erika began their legal education with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Reading in 2002, with a specialism in company law, employment law, and international law. Erika is currently pursuing a Practicing Certificate in Corporate Governance from the Society for Corporate Governance, expected to be completed in 2022.
