William H. Datema Drph, Ms, McHes®

William H. Datema, DrPH, MS, MCHES® has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. William H. has worked as an Interim Chief Executive Officer at the Society for Public Health Education since 2023 and as an Executive Director at ETA SIGMA GAMMA INC since 2022.

Prior to these roles, William served as an Adjunct Professor at Southern Connecticut, specializing in the School Health Education graduate program from 2019 to 2021.

From 2005 to 2019, they were the Chief of Program Development and Services Branch at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where they led national healthy schools programs.

Before transitioning to the public health field, William held the position of Vice-President/Sales Manager at Overhead Door Company of Springfield.

William H. Datema, DrPH, MS, MCHES® has a diverse education history. William H. obtained their Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree in Health Policy and Management from The University of Georgia, graduating in the year 2018. Prior to their doctoral studies, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services from Missouri State University, which they completed in 1985. William H. also holds a Bachelor of Science in Education (BSEd) in Secondary Education from the same institution, earned between 1977 to 1981.

Furthermore, William H. Datema has pursued additional certifications throughout their career. In 2016, they achieved the designation of Master Certified Health Education Specialist from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. Additionally, they possess certifications in Counseling (Grades 7-12) and Secondary Education Teacher (Social Studies, grades 7-12) from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, which they obtained in 1985 and 1981 respectively.

In 2004 and 2005, William H. Datema also attended the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Harvard Kennedy School, focusing on Health Policy and Management. However, it is not specified whether they obtained any degrees from these institutions.
